Online Gaming is Addictive

Oh my fucking god. I know as part of my new year's resolution I mentioned that I would try to blog more!

BUT.

I have been busy... with gaming! D:

Seriously, it's so addictive my boyfriend actually got mad that I spend more time on it than spending time with him.

Over the years, I have obviously heard of MMORPG games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends but I didn't like the aspect that you have to pay a subscription fee in order to play. So, I never actually bothered to search for it. However, one day I stumbled upon a list of games and TERA sounded like something fun. Plus, since I had a Steam account, it was just so easy to download, wait and play!

I downloaded the game on my boyfriend's computer, and upon starting the game, I was impressed with the graphics and game play. As a noob, it was easy to get a hang of things and it didn't take much to get hooked. I took my time leveling up my gunner character to 65, exploring and doing quite a lot of side quests along the way.

The only downside I had during that time, was finding people to play with (the two guilds I had joined did not have enough members online daily), and soloing quests on your own can get quite lonely & boring. However, I had luck on my side and joined a social guild :3 *byebyereallifeactivities*

For me, joining a guild was a game changer, especially a guild who uses Discord. It's a nice change to have people to talk to (to make up for almost a year of almost no social life). :D

Wait, did I forget to mention that it's free-to-play? They also have an in-game trade broker which allow players to sell/trade/buy items using in-game currency for items that might require real $. For example, since I didn't subscribe to an Elite account (optional), I could purchase a 30-day Elite scroll with the in-game currency I had.

Overall, I must say I was impressed (though I am quite disappointed with the latest patch, which got rid of an easy way to farm for gold) and it's definitely a game worth checking out!
